The Farm at Okefenokee Takes “Farm-to-Table Dining” to New Heights

Guests are welcome to begin arriving around 2:00 p.m. for our guided farm tours aboard a covered wagon. A first wagon ride departs shortly after arrival, with a second tour leaving around 3:00 p.m., allowing for a leisurely check-in and unhurried start to the afternoon.

As you ride, you’ll pass animal paddocks, orchards, and gardens while hearing the story behind The Farm’s vision. Sip on a cool mayhaw cider — pressed from fruit grown right here — or enjoy beer, water, or sodas along the way. Our livestock experts, gardeners, and craftspeople will be on hand and happy to answer questions throughout the tour.

At 4:30 p.m., grazing begins with small bites and seasonal tastes, leading into a five-star farm-to-table dinner prepared by our culinary partners, Congaree & Penn. Dinner features heritage meats and heirloom vegetables raised on The Farm, paired with thoughtfully selected wines chosen by our chef.

April Farm-to-Table Dinner: Whole Hog BBQ Celebration

Join us for a special spring edition of our Farm-to-Table Dinner at The Farm at Okefenokee, where great food, fresh air, and community come together in one unforgettable afternoon.

For this April gathering, we’re adding a unique twist to our traditional program — an authentic whole-hog barbecue prepared on-site by an award-winning Memphis BBQ team.

Our guests for the evening, High Hog BBQ, bring deep roots in traditional Memphis barbecue. Founded by childhood friends John Keegan and Aidan Lonergan, the team has quickly made a name for itself on the competition circuit, earning top placements in the prestigious SmokeSlam BBQ competition in Memphis — including 4th place in Whole Hog and multiple top finishes across categories.

Throughout the afternoon, you’ll see and smell the slow-cooking hog as it roasts over live fire — a time-honored barbecue tradition that few people ever get to experience up close.

Guests are welcome to begin arriving around 2:00 p.m. for our guided farm tours aboard a covered wagon. The first wagon ride departs shortly after arrival, with a second tour leaving around 3:00 p.m., allowing for a relaxed check-in and unhurried start to the afternoon.

As you ride through the property, you’ll pass animal paddocks, orchards, and gardens while hearing the story behind The Farm’s vision for regenerative agriculture and community living.

Around 5 p.m., Our Memphis pitmasters from High Hog BBQ will serve their slow-roasted whole hog, alongside additional barbecue selections including poultry, all cooked with the traditional flavors and techniques that made Memphis barbecue famous.

The meal will be complemented by an array of seasonal sides and desserts prepared by our culinary partners at Congaree & Penn, a Jacksonville favorite known for exceptional Southern cooking and hospitality.

Together, the pitmasters and chefs will deliver a meal that blends authentic pit barbecue with refined farm-to-table cuisine, all enjoyed outdoors beneath the wide skies of the Okefenokee.
