The Farm at Okefenokee Takes “Farm-to-Table Dining” to New Heights
Enjoy an unforgettable outdoor culinary experience in the heart of nature at The Farm at Okefenokee.
Guests are welcome to begin arriving around 2:00 p.m. for our guided farm tours aboard a covered wagon. A first wagon ride departs shortly after arrival, with a second tour leaving around 3:00 p.m., allowing for a leisurely check-in and unhurried start to the afternoon.
As you ride, you’ll pass animal paddocks, orchards, and gardens while hearing the story behind The Farm’s vision. Sip on a cool mayhaw cider — pressed from fruit grown right here — or enjoy beer, water, or sodas along the way. Our livestock experts, gardeners, and craftspeople will be on hand and happy to answer questions throughout the tour.
At 4:30 p.m., grazing begins with small bites and seasonal tastes, leading into a five-star farm-to-table dinner prepared by our culinary partners, Congaree & Penn. Dinner features heritage meats and heirloom vegetables raised on The Farm, paired with thoughtfully selected wines chosen by our chef.

Blackberry Picking
As part of the May 30th event, guests are invited to experience another favorite early-summer tradition at the farm — blackberry picking in our orchard. We encourage you to arrive a bit earlier than the standard 2:00 p.m. start time to allow plenty of time to pick your own berries before joining a wagon tour. We’ll provide baskets for picking and paper sacks to take your harvest home, making it easy to enjoy the experience at your own pace.
If you’ve ever spent time in the South, you know that blackberries are a true sign that summer has arrived. These small, dark berries grow wild and abundant across the region, thriving along fence lines and open fields. Their season is short and eagerly anticipated, with just a few weeks each year when they reach peak ripeness — warm from the sun and ready to be picked by hand.
The flavor of a fresh blackberry is something special — sweet, slightly tart, and far more vibrant than anything you’ll find in a store. They’ve long been a staple in Southern kitchens, finding their way into cobblers, jams, and preserves, or simply enjoyed by the handful straight from the vine. For many, blackberry picking is as much about the experience as it is the fruit — a shared ritual that brings back memories of summer afternoons and simple pleasures.
