Today, we’re excited to share that Trinity Rescue Mission is seeking an experienced Market Gardener to serve full-time at The Farm at Okefenokee in Folkston, Georgia. This unique role includes on-site housing and combines sustainable agriculture with Christ-centered ministry.
A Unique Role Rooted in Purpose
The one-acre production garden at The Farm plays a vital part in Trinity Rescue Mission’s gospel-centered work. It provides fresh, healthy food while creating hands-on opportunities for restoration, learning, and community engagement.
The Market Gardener hired by Trinity will be responsible for:
- Managing and cultivating a productive southern crops garden
- Building and maintaining long-term soil health through regenerative practices
- Teaching and mentoring volunteers, staff, and program participants
- Helping create a space where physical nourishment and spiritual renewal grow side by side
This role is ideal for someone who feels called to blend agriculture, discipleship, and ministry in everyday life.
Who Trinity Is Looking For
Trinity Rescue Mission is seeking a candidate who is as comfortable tending crops as they are encouraging and praying with others. Someone who sees beauty in both productive soil and God’s redemptive work in people.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Strong, proven experience in market gardening
- Expertise in composting, soil building, and sustainable practices
- Knowledge of southern crops and regional growing seasons
- A heart for ministry and service within a gospel-centered community
- A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and active participation in a local church
Experience working with individuals in recovery or transition, or leading volunteers, is a plus.
